There are several materials you will need for your outdoor sofa. You will need ten 8 foot
2″x4″ kiln-dried whitewood studs. You will also need a box of #10 2 1/2 inch star flat-head wood deck screws with bits. You may also want wood putty and exterior paint or stain that has polyurethane.

First, you will want to take the 2 by 4s and cut them at 72 inches to create the seat boards. Then cut 5 pieces to be 21 inches for cross pieces. Two 24 inch pieces will be arm rests. Next, cut one plank at 75 inches and another at 79 inches for the backboards. Finally, the bench legs will need to be 22 and 1/2 inches.

Once you have your cuts of wood, you will want to assemble the seat frame. After this, attach the legs and arm rests. You will also need to attach the back boards. Lastly, you can paint and stain your new outdoor sofa.
